Albach is the fairy tale medieval ski station of the Austrian Tyrol, a pretty town complete with friendly inns,. Back in 1983 the Austrians voted it the most beautiful village in Austria and thankfully over the years it has remained so; you won’t find any of the architectural monstrosities that can be found in some other resorts. For many years this has been a repeat destination for British skiers and the town even has its own British ski club.
For many people this resort fits the bill; friendly, picturesque and good skiing at a variety of levels. The large nursery slopes are ideal for beginners, however many feel the resort lacks the long intermediate slopes needed to progress. Last season saw the completion of a new water reservoir Jochanger guaranteeing water for snow cannons to maintain pistes from the top to the bottom of the resort.
