If you're off the slopes there is still quite a bit to keep you occupied in and around Schladming. There's a floodlit toboggan run, the usual leisure centre type stuff and a few shops to keep you occupied. Train trips to Salzburg are also easy.
Five to try
- Walking across the pisted walk up on Dachstein Glacier really gives you an idea of the scale of it
- Hit the slopes... but this time on a toboggan. The run at Hochwurzen is over 7km long
- Wind down with a massage
- For those who like to live dangerously, try paragliding over the mountain tops
- If you visit Salzburg, the Sound of Music tour is an absolute must!
Our penny's worth
Schladming not only has a lot going on, but it is a beautiful place to be. Try and explore the resort as much as possible, either by hiring a guide, or make it a bit more fun and head out on snow shoes!
