Where to stay - Whistler - Canada

Hotels and ski condominiums (apartments) provide the majority of available bes in Whistler, although some UK tour operators do offer catered chalets. Part of the resort's appeal is trying out he North American dining experience, there are plenty of choices and few are disappointed.
Hotels offer the most convenient location in Whistler Village and the prices and amenities certainly compare favourably to similar quality resorts in Europe, usually more spacious rooms and more facilities to chose from. Lots of holiday companies can put  together a package for you, for example Fresh Tracks which is based in Vancouver or Supertravel based in the UK. You can use this site to plan for yourself and book your own package.
If you are travelling with children remember to check that you're close to their ski school and the lifts (unless you like carrying their skis as well as your own!). Most hotels are family-friendly and Mark Warner, Supertravel and Scott Dunn can all arrange childcare for you. Check out our 'families section' for more useful tips and advice and our guide book to Whistler.

The villages
Whistler Village:
Skiers can access both Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain from the main base area in the heart of the village, the 'hub' of the village. The Village is dfeinitely the most convenient option for skiing, eating and partying and the pedestrian-only rule creates a relaxed environment.

Upper Village: Divided neatly by Fitzsimmons Creek, the Upper Village is a short walk from Whistler Village. The few ski in/ski out hotels are to be found here on Blackcomb Mountain. Whilst not having as many amenities as Whistler Village it is much quieter and is home to many of the high-end hotels, including the Four Seasons.

Village North: Bordered by Highway 99, the road into Whislter, Village North is very much a part of the main Village. There is no direct access to chairlifts from here so visitors have to walk between five to 10 minutes to the main base. There is a good shopping complex and as much of the accommodation includes kitchenettes it is a popular place for families.

Creekside: Creekside is about 15 minutes' drive away from Whister Village. Visitors choose to stay here to avoid the crowds at the Village and take advantage of the free shuttle bus service instead. A high-speed gondola at Creekside taking skiers up Whistler Mountain.  Typically day-trippers from Vancouver park their vehicles here.

Whistler's main landmarks and areas at a glance...

Skiers Plaza: the main lift area with gondola access to Whistler and Blackcomb mountains

Whistler Village: the location of most shopes, restaurants, bars and clubs. Car-free

Upper Village: base of Blackcomb Mountain

Village North: more shops and dining. North of Whistler Village along The Stroll

Creekside: satelite village, just south of Whistler.  Quieter and convenient for Whistler Mountain
