There is fantastic skiing here for all abilities. Beginners will find nursery slopes at the base of the lifts and soon progress up the mountain to try the scenic runs at the top. Many of the reds offer exciting and challenging skiing and varied runs from wide, open pistes to tree runs. For the advanced there is plenty to keep the adrenaline high with amazing challenges for the expert skier, as well as some real off-piste goodies. The resort was rated 10 out of 10 by the World Snowboard Guide as the best resort in all aspects.
Our favourite runs
Beginners
Grand Alpe (Chantemerle) is an ideal area for beginners, lots of artificial snow and home of the Serre Chevalier peak.
Intermediates
For a long cruisy red, head to the top of the Briancon gondola all the way to the bottom (with great views of the town).
Advanced:
Monetier les Bains is quieter than Chantemerle or Villeneuve, with the slightly steeper more challenging black run, Tibuc.
Off-piste
One of the great runs is off the back of the Pic Eyre. This goes down a very long hidden valley and which rejoins the lift system for an easy way home.
