This is a definitely a resort for those who come skiing for the luxury of long lunches and dinners, as much as for a hard day on the mountain. In fact, if it sounds like we’re raving about the food as much as the skiing you’d be right.
Italians are renowned for the care and attention they lavish on food and a visit to Courmayeur will just reinforce that reputation. With an abundance of local dishes and wines, eating out here is an event in itself as you sample the many different antipasti of cheeses, meats, pastas and vegetables, usually made from fresh local ingredients. In keeping with the general attitude towards tourists in Courmayeur, service is generally attentive and friendly. We find the best way to approach the menu is to make friends with your host and ask advice on what to order.

In each of the bars, you’ll find an array of antipasti for you to nibble with your
aperitivo (appetizer) drinks. Be careful though, the quality and quantity of the antipasti on offer can easily fill you up before your meal (or even be your dinner).
