Rendl beach

Take Rendl gondola from base of Rendl mountain (cool yellow cabins from the 70's!). A good 10 mins journey. Pedestrian should use same gondola, exit station in same building as restaurant and Rendl Beach. You'll see the outside bar as you exit the lift (near the giant snowman if there has been enough snow!) whilst the self-service restaurant and terrace are upstairs. The building is a bit 70s but there's a fantastically welcoming atmosphere. Although Rendl is often a quiet option, in good weather it can be packed as it gets the sun most of the day. Queues do build up, especially between 12.30-2pm. Food includes good stir-fries (€10), huge helpings of pasta (€7.80) and a salad bar (from €4.90; great value if you stack!). Popular with novices for the nearby blue runs, it's also good for lazy people who want to spend the afternoon drinking, sunbathing, listening to music and watching crazy skiers and boarders throw themselves off jumps in the terrain park. You can ski straight back to the resort from here at the end of the day. Open 9am-4pm.
