To match its serious skiing, Verbier offers some intense apres-ski. Cooling down (or warming up, depending on which way you look at it) on the mountain is popular. By around 10pm people are venturing out again. The party atmosphere keeps going strong in most bars until at least 1am. If you've still got the legs to dance and the liver to drink, nightclubs are open until 4am.
Alpage:
Welcoming mid-range local restaurant where you can take your time as the owner doesn't try and squeeze two sittings in per evening.
King's:
For a more sophisticated setting and a French-Asian fusion menu that works very well.
Baratin Creperie:
Delicious, reasonably-priced crepes make a welcome change to the usual mountain fare.
Le Farinet:
Two choices: upbeat fun in the open-roofed conservatory or sipping cocktails on leather sofas.
Pub Mont Fort:
Popular pub that is particularly busy after 10pm.
Needless to say, restaurants do local Swiss dishes brilliantly – there’s a wealth of cheese and ham options – but you can also choose from numerous international cuisines such as Japanese or Italian. For something special, stick around for dinner on the mountain at Chez Dany, La Marmotte or Le Sonalon.
